Message from Faith

 

As many of you know I'm Faith O'Riley from Clarksburg WV. On April 18, 2015 I won the title of Miss Mid Ohio Valley.  I' m truly honored to be representing the title.  This title is very important to me because I'm the very first Miss Mid Ohio Valley.  So it's very important to me to make the title represent and mean something not only to myself, but to the LGBT community.
Having said that, I intend to take this title to a high standard by educating our community about Gay bashing and Hate Crimes which are becoming more and more common among the LGBT community.

Back in 2007 I was brutally attacked, raped, stabbed, robbed, stripped of my clothing and left for dead.  This traumatic event has made me a stronger person and made me realize I want to be an advocate for Gay Bashing and Hate Crimes.

My reign as Miss Mid Ohio Valley will be coming to an end in May and it will be time for me to crown the next Miss Mid Ohio Valley.  I would like to finish my reign by hosting a benefit show for an organization in the Mid Ohio Valley area that helps educate the LGBT community on the danger of Gay Bashing and Hate Crime, especially the younger generation that are naive and trusting of others. 

I as a huge advocate for this cause will be hosting a benefit show in the Mid Ohio Valley area in which I will be donating all of my tips and will be having some very special and talented entertainers by my side to stand up and take a stand and help me get more education out there to our community.  I encourage you all to come out and join me and help make a difference for something that is near and dear to my heart.

You see my friends I believe that there is more to representing a title other than looking pretty in the crown and calling yourself a title holder, you have to make it mean something to you and the community.  You want to be remembered for standing up for something you believe in and getting the word out there during your reign. 

My hope is to challenge the next and all future Miss Mid Ohio Valley title holders to make a difference during their reign and choose a meaningful cause and organization and help them reach their goals.
